Mr. Purdy’s Hot Read
Theodore Boone – Kid Lawyer by John Grisham

Theodore Boone is the young teenage son of two lawyers. He has grown up in an atmosphere of trials and courthouse gossip. He loves the law and the role that lawyers play. His classmates often come to him with “legal” problems and he routinely holds “office hours” for his “classmate-clients”.
A murder is committed in Theo’s home town. A woman is found dead in her home and her husband is charged with her murder. It appears that he will be acquitted until a friend of Theo approaches him with some confidential information that may prove the husband’s guilt. Theo is torn between his promise not to reveal the information he was given and what he knows he should do.
Many of you may recognize John Grisham as a popular author of adult fiction lawyer-based novels. Theodore Boone – Kid Lawyer is his first attempt at juvenile fiction, and it is a great success. I strongly recommend this novel for teenagers and adults alike. This is a Hot a Read!
