Welcome To Kitscoty Hilltop Public Library


Kitscoty Hilltop Public Library is located in the Kitscoty Elementary School (4910- 51 St) in the Village of Kitscoty. The library serves the village of over 800 citizens and surrounding area as well as the staff and students of the Elementary School.

The library has a collection of over 11,000 items. We are excited to be expanding to include audio books and DVD rentals.

In the last year we have expanded our collection through joining the Northern Light Library System which gives us access to libraries all over the province through the TRAC system.

Our library is also part of CAP (Community Access Program) offering the use of computers and internet access for those wishing to use it. We will also soon be wireless to allow access if you bring your own laptop.

Reference Services

Through our inter- library loans we have access to library collections throughout the province. If we do not own an item we may be able to borrow it from another library. Our staff can help you access TRAC pac if you require assistance.
Your Library Card

Fees

Resident Individual $5/year
Resident Family $15/year
Non Resident Individual $35/year
Non Resident Family $45/year
Replacement Card Fee $5/year

Library cards are accepted at any TAL member Library. Ask staff for a list of locations where you can use your card.

Library cards can be issued to people of any age. If you are under 18 you will need a parent or guardian to sign the registration form. Cards may only be used by the person to whom it is issued and must be shown to borrow material. Contact the library if it is lost or stolen.

Borrowing Materials

You may borrow as many items as can be returned on time.

All resources are on loan for 2 weeks and may be renewed 1 time for total loan of 4 weeks.

Patrons may place a hold for items currently on loan to other library users and will be called when the material becomes available.


Lost or Damaged Items

An item will be deemed lost if not returned 2 months of the date borrowed. And item will be deemed damaged at the discretion of the librarian. A written notice indicating charges due will be given when an item is considered lost or damaged.

Not from Kitscoty?

Kitscoty Hilltop Public Library is a member of the Northern Lights Library System.

If you have a library card from any member libraries you can use that card in Kitscoty at no charge.

Library Funding

Kitscoty Hilltop Public Library receives financial support from the Village of Kitscoty through the property taxes paid by property owners and renters.

Additional funds come from provincial grants and regional library system grants.
