JANUARY is the Beginning of the Winter Reading Contest
JANUARY - Family Literacy Day!
Winter Reading Contest - “GET YOUR MITTS ON A GOOD BOOK”
January 1 – February 28, 2019
Reading Forms and Information will be available from the Library and Schools.
This is open to all ages Kindergarten to Adult. Take time to read a minimum of 5 hours for 12 and under and 7 hours if you are over 12. Enter to win. Prizes will be drawn for through the Northern Lights Library System from entries collected and submitted through our local library!
Mark January 30th on your calendar and plan to drop in at the library between 4 - 7:30 for lots of literacy fun AS WE CELEBRATE LITERACY DAY!
A variety of fun activities for the family to take part in will be available.
Story Hours will be the 2nd Wednesday of each month starting January 9. They will run betweeen 6:30 and 7:30. Take time to bring your little one (ages 3 - 7) down for a story and craft before bedtime!
Book Club this month will be on January 24th at 7:30pm. Read one or all of our monthly selection and then join us on the 24th to discuss and to pick out the next books. Books for January are: Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell, The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger, Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline and Ru by Kim Thuy.
Life Long Learning
We will be wrapping up our crochet section this month. January16, 23 and 30 we will be working on a crochet articles (Headbands, mitts, boot cuffs, scarfs). You can work on these or bring your own project to work on. We will teach and support you as we go along. $2 per night. Drop in from 7 - 9pm. Supplies available or bring your own.
