Summer & Winter Reading Programs

Winter Reading Contest

Log your reading time throughout the winter whatever way works for you. Weekly, monthly, daily, it’s all good as long as it’s logged before February 28th.
Your FIRST 15 minutes logged will earn you an entry into the grand prize draw.

After that, every hour you log will earn you another entry.

Log your reading at nllsreadingprograms.ca

Friday 15

Every Friday you read for 15 minutes, you help Kitscoty Public Library become the biggest reader in the Northern Lights system!

Don’t worry, you can still submit those 15 minutes in the main contest too.

Pen Pal Program

Sign up by Sunday, January 14 to get matched with a pen pal during our Winter Reading Program. There’s no age limit – your pal could be any age and from anywhere across northeastern Alberta, just as long as they like libraries!

In mid-January, you’ll get an email telling you who your pen pal is and what library to send your letters to. Just drop your letters off at any participating library and they’ll be sent off to your pal!

For more information or to sign up for a pen pal visit nllsreadingprograms.ca

Snow Art Contest

Show us your best snow art! Roll it, pat it, sculpt it, paint it – all snow art counts!

Submit by Sunday, January 28 – give your art a title and send a photo to your local library or submit online. The winner will get a snowman making and snow painting kit from Northern Lights Library System.

Online submissions can be made at nllsreadingprograms.ca
